Four ways to finish your boat.

Boat names go straight to the design studio. Badges, registration lettering and bespoke acrylic start with a short project brief, so we can size and quote them properly.

Featured work · Wildfire

Built to be seen up close and from the dock.

Good boat lettering works at two distances. Up close, you notice the depth and the edges. From across the marina, you see a name that belongs to the boat.

  • Dimension

Letters stand off the hull and cast their own shadow line.

  • Contrast

A deep blue face reads clearly against the white transom.

  • Reflective edging

A bright edge catches the light and outlines each letter.

  • Intentional fit

The name is scaled and spaced to the transom it sits on.

Boat Name Studio

See your name on the transom before anything is cut.

Type your name, choose a lettering style and finish, then set the height. Upload a photo of your boat to see it in place.

Materials & finishes

Two materials. Choose how much presence you want.

  • Illustrative study of mirror-gold dimensional acrylic lettering

    Dimensional acrylic

Cut letters with real thickness that stand off the surface. Mirror finishes reflect the water and sky around them; gloss and frosted give a quieter, solid look. Suited to transom names, hailing ports and badges.

  • Illustrative study of flat vinyl lettering

    Cut vinyl

Applied flat to the surface. Practical for registration numbers and secondary lettering.

Acrylic finishes

  • Mirror Gold

    Mirror Gold

Warm, reflective; picks up light from the water.

  • Mirror Silver

    Mirror Silver

Cool and bright against darker hulls.

  • Gloss Black

    Gloss Black

Deep, solid black with a polished surface.

  • Gloss White

    Gloss White

Crisp solid white for dark or coloured hulls.

  • Frosted

    Frosted

Soft and translucent, with a quieter presence.

Manufacturer names and model marks appear here as examples of our photographed work. They don’t indicate a partnership with or endorsement by any boat manufacturer.

Before you order

What’s the difference between acrylic and vinyl lettering?

Acrylic letters are cut from solid material and stand off the surface, so they have depth, an edge and a shadow. Vinyl is cut from a thin film and applied flat. Both are cut to your design; acrylic gives the more dimensional look.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the flat area of your transom where the name will sit, then try letter heights in the studio. It shows an approximate lettering width. Send us a photo and your measurements, and we’ll confirm the final size with you.

Will I see a proof before you cut?

Yes. Your design, dimensions and price are confirmed with you before anything is cut.

Do you install?

A1 Marine Care installs locally within its service area: Georgian Bay, Lake Simcoe and the Trent-Severn. Elsewhere in Canada, we ship your order with application guidance.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes. Custom products ship across Canada with application guidance. Shipping details are confirmed with your order.

Can you work from my own artwork or logo?

Yes. Send what you have. Vector files are ideal, but photos, sketches or a picture of an existing badge are a good start. We’ll tell you what we need to produce it cleanly.

Can you make registration numbers?

Yes. Tell us the exact characters, the height you need and where they’ll be placed. Please confirm the requirements that apply to your vessel; we cut to the text and dimensions you provide.

A letter on my boat is damaged. Can you replace it?

Send a photo of the damaged letter, its approximate size and, if you have them, your original order details. We’ll confirm whether we can match it and quote the replacement.

Let’s make it yours.

Start with your boat’s name, or tell us about the badge, plaque or lettering you have in mind.
